Labor Day Reading

Most people are likely off work today, unless you’re me. But for everyone else today should be a nice opportunity to be productive. And by productive I mean lie on the sofa all day and get some reading done.

No Netflix. No work business. No nothing. Just relax today. Federal holidays aren’t exactly high in number, so be sure to take advantage of the one you’re getting today. And if you happen to work like me, well hopefully you’ll have a day off soon. Like tomorrow.

Tell me what you’ll be reading today. If I didn’t work until 10:30, then I’d be reading The Black Box by Michael Connelly. And no, it doesn’t have anything to do with airplanes.

  1. Happy Labor Day John. Today I’m actually doing a lot of work and should take a break. But anyways, I will find some time to read a few chapters of The Lost Heiress 🙂

  2. I drove back from Idaho today to central Washington, and made a pit-stop in Spokane to buy a dress for a wedding next weekend in Colorado. I did buy a couple new books, but because I was driving or on the go most of the day, I spent the other parts of the weekend reading and finished three books. I will finish the fourth tonight.
They are: The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo, A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray, Number the Stars by Lois Lowry, and I’m finishing Persuasion, Captain Wentworth, and Cracklin’ Cornbread by Mary Jane Hathaway.
It’s kind of funny to me because it spans genres from the classics, to YA, to MG/historical, to adult fiction. Haha! I like an eclectic reading schedule.
