Have you ever stopped to think about all the series you’ve read? Especially the ones you’ve finished. Well I just did. And guess how many I came up with? Two.
There’s always a chance I’m missing some, but I think I’m pretty spot on. Merci Rayborn and The Hunger Games. Those are the only book series I’ve read from start to finish. It probably sounds crazy, but it really isn’t.
I’ve written on here before about the length of series you’re willing to read, and I remember several people saying that four or five books is just too many for a series. I thought it was garbage back then and I still think so today.
The majority of the series I read are 10+ books. Spenser. Bosch. Alex Cross. Jesse Stone. Elvis Cole. Alex McKnight. And several I started and never finished. Mystery writers tend to write long series, and I have no issue with that as long as the writing stays top notch.
Do you have any idea how many aeries you’ve completed?
Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Heroes of Olympus, the Hunger games, Harry Potter, Wolves of Mercy Falls, The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal devices, Kane Chronicles. That’s 8.
And several on going. Most of them are trilogies and fantasy. And YA, of course 😃

Oh! Not to forget Chaos Walking trilogy (brilliant dystopian; highly recommended) and Slammed, Hopeless and Maybe Someday series (all drama and romance), by Colleen Hoover. And SO many on going.

I’ve read all 7 Harry Potter books many times over the years, but that’s the only one I can think of at the moment.

Whoa. Even less than me! But my two were both trilogies. So the two is even less books than your one.

The Hunger Games, The Sookie Stackhouse Novels, The Little Women Series, The Night World Series, and The Riley Jenson Guardian series. I’m in the middle of too many other series that I need to complete.

Well at least we have one in common! A couple of my co workers have read the Sookie Stackhouse series, I think?

Is a series defined as more than a trilogy? Nine I think.

A series is a series. I’d define as more than one book. Cause obviously that’s a standalone.
