I finally read a book off of Amazon’s 100 Books Everyone Should Read list. And it was one that perhaps you wouldn’t expect to find on the list at all. Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney.
I can tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed the book and it was a breeze to get through. Now watch and see what you think!
I’ve read em all with my kids!!!

Did you enjoy them as much as I imagine they did?

I did actually! And they went on to watch the films, which we have seen countless times now! But when we read them, I have to put on an American accent… they don’t sound right in my British voice!

Hahaha. I think I’ve seen parts of the movies. I remember Rodrick Rules just a little bit.

There’s the original…then Roderick Rules, and the third was Dog Days, I think!

I remember reading it as a kid and I didn’t think much of it at all! My brother loved it though. I suppose it just wasn’t my kind of humour. I haven’t read the other books since! π

It just wasn’t my cup of tea, or style of humour (even as a kid).

I read the first book when I was 10, right after the first movie came out. After watching the movie I bought the first book and as soon as I finished it I rushed to the book store and grabbed every other part. I just love the humour and the illustrations. I’m 15 now and I’m eagerly waiting for the latest book to come out.
Have you read all of the books in the series?

I’ve only read the first one so far, but I definitely will be reading the rest of the series as soon as I make some progress in my TBR pile. It’s currently around 80 books.
