I’m about to finish my 5th book of the year (matching my 2018) and I want your help to pick my next read!
They’re both by one of my favorite authors, Michael Connelly. The first is The Late Show, which introduces Detective Renee Ballard to the world. The second is The Lincoln Lawyer, which is the first in the Mickey Haller series. I’ve gotten some exposure to him because he’s related to Harry Bosch, but I haven’t read anything with Renee Ballard yet. She was featured in another book last year.
Tell me, tell me!
I just read The Late Show and really liked it. I’m also a fan of the Haller books. I guess it depends how much Bosch you want. He is featured prominently in The Late Show.

I’m not sure, but are you getting the books mixed up? Dark Sacred Night features both Harry and Renee Ballard. It would seem silly to heavily feature an existing character in the first book of a new series introducing a new character.

Yeah. I got them mixed up. Dark Sacred Night is the one I just read. They mention the late show so much in the book I forgot it wasn’t the title.

No worries. I’ll probably be getting that one soon. But it’s still newish so Half Price hasn’t dropped it to their standard $7.99 yet. But they have their coupon week coming, so I can use that.
