January was okay on the blog. It was nothing compared to last January, but eh. I guess I’ll have to take the blame for that. The first month of the year has come and gone, and now it’s time for some numbers.

I lied. January actually turned out to be better than expected. I know two books is nothing to cheer about, but at least I did get started on my 2016 Reading Challenge, right? AND I posted a poem on here for the first time in a million years. AND I’m getting a little more consistent on my channel. All positives. The other numbers are pretty average.

2016 Reading Challenge Book #$2: The Thomas Berryman Number
The top post of the month was pretty predictable, although I hadn’t checked before writing this. But Alan Rickman was beloved actor, and his death brought about the appropriate response from his fans. I finally got my own YouTube URL, which of course is exciting. AND I’m really planning on expanding my channel to greater heights in the coming months. Which I hope you’ll join me for.
All in all, January was pretty nice. I know I enjoyed it. How was your opening month of 2016?

Pretty good, reading wise. Pretty sucky writing and blogging wise. I read 40 books in January, went to Ireland, worked, did a little writing, did some plotting, and drove everywhere. I’m hoping I’ll swing back into a higher percentage of writing this month than last.

I don’t understand. Are you asking what, in Ireland, made me want to go there? Or what is the intrinsic value of the country? Please clarify.

Gotcha. Well, that’s easy. I love history and Europe/Britain/Ireland most especially. Ireland is an ancient island with so much to offer, plus it’s really beautiful because it rains so much, so everything is lush and green (when the sun is out). There are lots of old castles and buildings and traditions that are really fun and interesting. Plus, my sister and I got a HUGE deal on Groupon for this trip when we booked it in June. $800 for a week in Ireland including airfare. That’s pretty sweet. Ideally, I’d like to go all over the world, but this was a good choice. My sister loves Ireland and has been there twice before, so she’s always looking for reasons/ways to go back. I’d also love to go back, as well as visit as many European nations as I can. Then on to Africa, maybe, or Australia/New Zealand. The world calls, and I want to answer!!! 🙂

Oh. Okay. I definitely feel the same about Europe. Except Ireland isn’t on my list. Though $800 does seem like a steal. I’m going to DC with my brother and his fiancé, so I guess I’m third wheeling it on my own trip. 😂 Just kidding. I invited both of them. You’re talking about exploding the world and I’m over here getting crazy excited for one little dot on the world map. I might even vlog a lot of it because it’s really going to be life changing for me. So much history in one city. My four days probably won’t be enough. But that’s okay. It’ll be a fantastic four days.
